Signs you hate yourself. Many of us feel unworthy of achieving our dreams, many people feel it is impossible for good things to happen to them.

Even when we are at a point, no matter how hard we try, we feel empty and never satisfied. Why this happened? Are we lazy or is there something else?

The answer is not easy, but maybe it’s not because of laziness, but rather to the point of hating yourself.

Self-hatred can be caused by many things, ranging from perfectionism or high expectations, lack of self-confidence or low self-esteem, to certain mental disorders, such as depression or bipolar disorder.

Self-hatred can be defined as hatred towards oneself which often manifests in the form of anger, self-sabotage, negative self-image, and low self-esteem.

Not only that, people who hate themselves may also have experienced traumatic events, such as physical, sexual or emotional violence.

Feelings of anger, shame, disappointment, self-loathing, or other negative feelings are normal when experiencing failure.

However, these emotions should only appear for a short time, but if they drag on and are difficult to change into positive thoughts, this self-hatred can be dangerous or toxic.

It is important for a person to be aware of their feelings and attitudes towards themselves in order to change for the better.

Here are 7 Signs You Hate Yourself

Here are seven signs that you might hate yourself and not even realize it

1. Signs you hate yourself: You’re angry with yourself

Hating yourself makes you always criticize yourself until in the end you don’t have a sense of pride in yourself, whatever happens you always blame yourself.

Paying attention and realizing your own shortcomings is a good thing, but don’t give yourself room to breathe because this stems from a deep feeling of dislike for yourself.

You think very hard things about yourself and feel sorry for yourself, you think hard, eventually your mentality collapses and eventually it becomes a habit in your daily life.

Everyone makes mistakes, but you are so hard on yourself that you can’t forgive yourself if you make a mistake.

You’re quick to blame yourself whenever something goes wrong, even if it’s not entirely your fault.

You never praise yourself for a job well done, but only criticize yourself when you make a mistake, even the smallest mistake.

You are plagued by feelings of guilt, worthlessness, and feelings of inadequacy, which often emerge as complaints about yourself and your life.

2. Signs you hate yourself: You feel unsafe around other people

If you find that other people often make you feel insecure, maybe it’s time to ask yourself, Why?

Most likely, this is because you constantly compare yourself to them and feel that no matter what you do, you will never be able to reach or match them.

Don’t be too hard on yourself, especially if you’ve tried, don’t force yourself to be like other people because that’s a clear sign that you hate yourself.

When you look at other people, you always focus on everything they have and then look at what you don’t have, and that will make you never be grateful for all the good things you have.

You feel bad whenever you are around someone who is happy, confident, smart, attractive, or successful.

3. Signs you hate yourself: You neglect self-care

Do you want to make your loved ones happy and caring? Chances are, you probably answered Yes right away.

Because when you love someone, you want the best for them. So, if you truly love yourself, you will want that to happen to you too.

This is why neglecting self-care is a form of self-loathing. You don’t sleep well, you don’t eat right, you don’t exercise, you don’t try to look good, and you don’t do things that make you happy.

It’s not because you don’t have time or can’t be bothered, but it’s about refusing to indulge because of a deep hatred for yourself.

Because your inner self is at war with yourself, and you feel like this is the right time to let yourself be physically exposed.

So when you look in the mirror, all you see are ugly people, unworthy of love and that’s what you want most.

4. Signs you hate yourself: Don’t let yourself be happy

You are a pessimist who is quick to find the negative aspects of any situation, you are wary of praise because to you it seems mocking.

You don’t see yourself in a positive light and refuse to believe anything anyone says.

However, when you are criticized, you actually accept their criticism and justify it because it strengthens your view of yourself.

You are uncomfortable letting others help because you believe your problems are your own and you deserve it.

You find it difficult to feel good about yourself and this is what sucks all the joy and happiness out of your life.

You hate yourself and distance yourself from everything, even distance yourself from all pleasure.

These are just some of the ways you deny yourself happiness, perhaps without realizing that you have a festering wound of self-loathing.

5. Signs you hate yourself: You isolate yourself from others

You struggle not to maintain special relationships with other people, because you feel you don’t deserve their love, often you feel their attention and affection is a burden to you.

You consider yourself not good enough to stay in their circle, because you have a low concept of life, and you feel they will always judge you too.

They help keep you up to date, but you stay behind because you think they’re better off without you.

You always feel guilty when hanging out with them because you believe your presence always bothers them, and you try to keep it a secret.

Your inability to love yourself makes you unwilling to accept love from others. As a result, you always isolate yourself and refrain from disturbing others because of your presence.

6. Signs you hate yourself: Always wear a mask in front of other people

You are yourself when you are alone and a different person when you are in front of others.

You wear a mask and don’t let others see the real you because you hate yourself so much.

You try so hard to fit in and be liked by everyone and you keep wishing you were someone else.

You feel ashamed of who you really are and you think no one can accept you. So you prefer to pretend to be someone else who you are not.

7. Signs you hate yourself: You’re afraid to dream big

Having ambition and dreaming of something big for yourself, scares you, you harbor your own hopes and ideals because you think you will never achieve them.

In your heart you say: What good is it if I achieve this? What’s the point if I achieve it?

You underestimate yourself and everything you do and you refuse to leave your comfort zone now.

The possibility of failure and rejection is what scares you, and you easily feel hopeless and worthless when you experience setbacks.

You reject opportunities for growth and experience because you don’t believe in yourself.

It’s your insecurities that make it difficult for you to see your abilities and your chances of success go down the drain.

We all have many self-destructive behaviors that have a detrimental impact on our mental health and emotional well-being.

Many of us struggle with feelings of insecurity, emptiness, and helplessness that sometimes make us hate ourselves.

The more aware you are of your self-hatred, the easier it will be for you to overcome it.

With time, patience, support, and dedication, you can learn to love yourself and live a better, happier, healthier life.
